Regulation of Reputation Merits
I propose an addition to the Character Regulation bylaws.
The Merit: Reputation shall require Coordinator approval of the appropriate Sect Genre Coordinator (ie. Camarilla Coordinator for Camarilla vampires, Sabbat Coordinator for Sabbat vampires, Anarch Coordinator for Anarch vampires) before being purchased and/or claimed by a vampire PC.
Coordinator-controlled NPCs with this merit must be notified to the appropriate Coordinator.
Chronicle-specific NPCs will only need to be notified to the appropriate coordinator if the NPC is going to be using that Reputation outside their own home chronicle.
Once given, the Coordinator approval must be logged with the Archivist.
This proposal shall allow for no grandfathering or pre-existing conditions. Further possession of this merit by any PC must meet the required Coordinator approval process. Storytellers will have a period of two (2) months to contact the appropriate Coordinator for approval of PCs who already have this merit, after which time they will be considered to be in violation of this bylaw.
The purpose of this proposal is to reflect and regulate the nature of a merit that has come to represent how well a character is known throughout the organization as a whole, as opposed to within their home chronicle or region alone.
